Casting call
for comedy short

Looking for NON-ACTRA actors for Dog Training, a comedy short about a woman who uses dog training techniques on her unsuspecting fiancé.

This is a shoestring production that will be shot in HD and has some terrific elements lined up. Our goal is to make a funny, tight little piece for the festival circuit and our show reels (this means yours too!).

No pay but these perks: meals, espresso, credit and a DVD copy

Shoot (tentative dates): 3 days, August 28 to 30, 2009

Location: Montreal area (West Island)

Auditions will take place at the beginning of August.

4 breakdowns

KATRINA (30s) – lead – well-organized and well-meaning, but a little naïve. About to tie the knot with Mike.

MIKE (30's) – lead – good natured, fairly athletic guy with a rebel streak.

MARIE (30's) – supporting – result-oriented and will stop at nothing. She lends the dog training book to her friend Katrina and encourages her to “train” Mike.

FATHER WALSH (40s to 60s) – supporting – visits Kat and Mike for a prenuptial meeting.

Comedic timing a must. Some insight into dog behavior a definite plus for the roles of Mike and Katrina. For the role of Mike, the actor should be able to progressively show a dog’s physicality (without overacting).
